Osha Safety Education

The OSHA Outreach Training Program is OSHA’s primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. Over the past 10 years, over 3.5 million students have received training through this program.

The J. L. Lewis Contractors team completes the 10-hour and or 30-hour Outreach course for construction.

he OSHA 10-hour Outreach Training programs were developed by the OSHA Training Institute with the intent to assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work.

he OSHA 30-hour Outreach Training Programs cover training modules, required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) that apply toward 30-hour DOL wallet card.

On site Training 

The J. L. Lewis superintendent and or foreman on the job site conduct weekly training to ensure all team members are following safety protocol and requirements.
The team receives weekly safety memos to remind everyone safety is first no matter what.

Forklifts and other powered industrial trucks are a necessary for many companies. They are powerful tools that can save your company time and money. The qualities that make them useful also make them dangerous. Over 100 fatalities and thousands of injuries are caused by forklifts or powered industrial trucks each year. Most of these incidents can be prevented with proper training and retraining when necessary. We created our training program to help employers train their employees in the proper use, and care of forklifts to prevent incidents from happening.

The training addresses the major areas needed to comply with the OSHA regulation, including:


COVID 19 Safety Requirements

Wear a Mask
-Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before putting on your mask
-Wear your mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin.
-Fit the mask snugly against the sides of your face, slipping the loops over your ears or tying the strings behind your head.
-Make sure you can breathe easily.
Stay 6 feet away from others
-Inside your home: Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
-If possible, maintain 6 feet between the person who is sick and other household members.
-Outside your home: Put 6 feet of distance between yourself and people who don’t live in your household.
-Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus.
-Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people.
Wash your hands often
-Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
-If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
When to use gloves
-Cleaning with dish cloth while wearing gloves.
-Use gloves when cleaning and disinfecting or providing care to someone who is sick.
-When you are routinely cleaning and disinfecting your home.
What is social distancing?
-Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping a safe space between yourself and other people who are not from your household.
-To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people who are not from your household in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
-Social distancing should be practiced in combination with other everyday preventive actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including wearing masks, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
